Julie Chen Moonves will host the summer hit reality series Big Brother. The show returns to CBS on 5 August for its 2nd season. Chen Moonves has been an integral part of The Talk since 2010, when she was both moderator and host. Her real passion came when she started writing, and was awarded an Emmy. Hosting an outstanding entertainment talk show earned her another Emmy. She co-hosted the CBS News weekday morning show The Early Show between 2002 and 2010. Before that, she served as the news anchor of The Early Show and anchor of the CBS Morning News, the CBS Television Network's morning-to-day, half-hour broadcast.Chen Moonves reported on several important storylines on The Early Show, including the war of 2003 in Iraq. Following the 9/11 attacks She was taken to Cairo and found the hijacker's lead father to give him an fascinating interview. Chen Moonves interviewed celebrities such as Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. She also spoke with ex- New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani as well as Queen Rania. Chen Moonves is also a CBS Sunday Morning reporter, who has interviewed stars like Jamie Lee Curtis. Before The Early Show she was a reporter with WDTN TV Dayton located in Dayton, Dayton, Ohio (1995-1997). She also served as a producer at ABC NewsOne (1992-1995), the affiliate news service of the network in the late 1990s, as well as an assistant desk in ABC News' Los Angeles bureau (1990-1991), while finishing her senior year at University of Southern California. As a desk-assistant to ABC News late night broadcast Nightline, she worked with Ted Koppel. He remains an inspiration to her in the field of journalism. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel in the production of the award-winning Columbia du-Pont special Anatomy of a Riot which was a look at events surrounding the Los Angeles riots of '92.
